For this case study, we’re going to take a look at our recent collaboration with Perran Bay Nursing, a nursing home located in Perranporth, a town in the beautiful county of Cornwall.
Barons is very proud to have been chosen as Perran Bay Nursing’s furniture provider, helping to transform their outdated sun lounge into a functional, yet stunning room. Project Details
The well-loved sun lounge in Perran Bay had become outdated, and the staff and residents knew it was time for a change. This is where Barons stepped in. Perran Bay Nursing Home needed furniture that combined style and functionality; they also needed a more cohesive colour scheme. Together with Barons, they carefully chose pieces that matched their aesthetic and practical requirements. The furniture included some Boston Electric Recliners and chairs from our Camden Range, all in fabric shades that go together beautifully.

The staff at Perran Bay were very happy with our service and said, ‘It has been an absolute pleasure working with you and your team, and I just can’t tell you how pleased we are with the end result’. We also received some feedback from the residents, ‘It is very calm and relaxing’ and ‘It feels like I’m sat in First Class on a cruise liner; it is wonderful!’.
The sun lounge at Perran Bay is extremely special to both staff and residents, and they had an extremely special story to share with us. The staff at Perran Bay always knew that Doreen enjoyed drawing and spent hours doodling in her notebooks, and when the team at Perran Bay Care Home helped Doreen’s family organise her bedroom following her passing earlier this year, it was then they discovered several paintings and drawings hidden away in an old sketchbook, all signed by Doreen.
Advice and guidance were sought on the best way to mount and frame the pictures, and just a few weeks later, Perran Bay took delivery of the most wonderful artwork. With a newly decorated and refurbished Sun Lounge, it seemed the most fitting place for Doreen’s fabulous creations to be displayed. Perran Bay’s residents and team will enjoy Doreen’s unique pieces of art for many years to come, and her memory will live on. We are in awe of her amazing talent. ‘Thank you,’ Doreen!
