Back in December, members of the Barons team - Hollie, Bailey, Melissa, and Lauren - successfully completed the RIBA-approved CPD training provided by the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) at the University of Stirling. This specialised training focused on dementia-inclusive design, equipping professionals with the knowledge needed to create environments that support people living with dementia.

Upon completion, the team was presented with their certificates, marking an important step in improving Barons’ understanding of dementia-friendly furniture design.

Reflecting on the course, Hollie shared her experience:

“I found the course really interesting, learning how a well-designed space can improve the quality of life for people with dementia and their carer or family members who care for them. The well-thought-out space helps reduce negative responses and supports abilities for longer. This can really help with making any suggestions to clients and supporting the sales team when going on appointments.”

At Barons, we understand the importance of thoughtful furniture and interior design in care environments. By completing this training, our team is better equipped to provide expert guidance and solutions tailored to the needs of those living with dementia.

If you're looking for expertly designed, high-quality furniture that improves comfort and supports the needs of care home residents get in touch today to find out how Barons can help.
