Barons' Delivery Protocol
Due to the recent increased focus on coronavirus, and confirmation that the UK has now moved into the ‘Delay’ Phase of managing this pandemic crisis, we would like to take the opportunity to set out the Company’s position on how we are addressing deliveries at this time.
Barons' directors and senior management are taking the occurrence of this pandemic very seriously and the health and safety of their staff, visitors, customers and end-users are of paramount importance.
- To enable us to ensure continued service delivery during these uncertain times, we are reviewing and updating our Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan on an ongoing basis.
- We are continuously communicating important updates to our staff, customers and supply chain to make sure they are fully aware of the situation as it develops.
- We regularly reinforce the importance of following WHO/PHE guidelines on infection control.
- We have installed alcohol hand sanitiser stations, antibacterial wipes and tissues throughout the workplace. Delivery teams and drivers have also been issued with their own personal hand sanitisers for use when out on the road.
- All Barons staff are aware of the requirement to keep us updated of any travel plans and we are continuously reviewing the list of high-risk zones throughout the world, to identify any need for self-isolation.
- Our transport manager is ensuring that the delivery teams are familiar with individual customer policies and requirements on taking deliveries during each phase of the coronavirus pandemic.
- Evidence suggests that the coronavirus does not live on surfaces for longer than a few hours to a day or so. Barons chairs are stored for an average of one week prior to dispatch.
- Delivery drivers to ask customers to use their own pens for signing delivery notes to minimise risk of cross-infection.
- As an infection control measure, Barons routinely use Hygienilac, an antibacterial, superbug resistant lacquer for spraying wood finishes.
- Once chairs are manufactured, they are quality checked and placed in a plastic bag for hygiene and protection in transit.
- Barons normally room-places products upon delivery but are mindful that customers may not wish for this to happen at this time. We are happy to deliver to another indoor location (e.g. reception) or, indeed, weather permitting to deliver to your door.
- Upon delivering to the specified location, the delivery team will remove the plastic packaging and remove it from site – unless delivery is requested outdoors and the weather is inclement!
We are very conscious that the above policy may need to be reviewed and amended to suit customer requirements as events and guidelines unfold. We do ask that you advise us of your specific requirements at point of order so that we can communicate your requirements to the relevant delivery teams.
Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to mitigate the risk of infection, if you have any specific requirements, or you can think of anything else we can do, please let us know.
Thank you
Managing Director
